Now sudden fear happens when we’re surprised by news or events which we didn’t expect to happen when our day began. It can hit us as suddenly as an earthquake hits an unsuspecting city. An unexpected confrontation, a cellphone call, a doctor’s report; each of them can shake our foundation and cause us to begin to inwardly crumble. However, God tells us that when our minds and our hearts are focused on the promises which He has made to us, that He will keep us in perfect peace no matter what comes our way.

I encourage you to read His Word to you today, and above all remember, it’s time to pray!

There are moments in history when God is willing to do something so wonderful, that you and I will dance and sing in our streets for joy. Psalms 126, listen to these words, “When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. They said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’ The Lord has done great things for us, And we are glad.” Remember though, that all of these things begin with the word “If, If, If my people.”

Pray For a Daughter http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/pray-for-a-daughter Tue, 16 Oct 2018 04:01:00 +0000 itstimetopray.org http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/pray-for-a-daughter Every Tuesday night at 7PM we have our Worldwide Prayer Meeting here in New York City, and we receive many prayer requests. Today I’m asking you to join with me for somebody who sent in an anonymous prayer request from Rutherford, New Jersey.

Here’s what it says, “Please pray for my daughter. She claims that she knows Jesus as Savior but is confused about her own sexuality. Jesus can do all things, bring her to you.” So, Lord God, we lift up this parent who is concerned about his or her daughter. And Father God we ask you Lord, to set your hand against the confusion that wants to touch this young life and push her in a direction that you’ve not created her to walk into. Lord show her God, show her truth, and lead her in truth, and give her deliverance from anything that is not from your hand. We thank you that we can stand today, and we can believe, in Jesus name.

Remember everybody, it’s time to pray!

I have a bit of advice for someone today, before you run around using the name of Jesus, make sure that you have a real relationship with Him. Make sure you’ve confessed your sin, received Him in your heart as the one who died for your wrongs. Determine to trust His power within you to live a new and God-honoring life, and that your reason for living is to find and to do His will for the rest of your days. If you do this, I promise this to you today, the devils will know your name.

But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.’ Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.’

God has power to bring back that which has been lost, and this power is shown all throughout the bible; from the widow at Nain, Lazarus in the tomb, the women who lost her virtue, disciples who had lost their direction, their strength, and their sense of well-being. He has the power to speak and command life and freedom to come back again. It begins with our speaking to Him. The father of the child said, “Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief.”

In the gospel of Luke chapter 16 verse 8, Jesus makes an incredible statement; that is, that sometimes in this world the children of this world are in their generation, wiser than the children of light. In our opening text, the enemies of God’s people knew something about them which they had forgotten about themselves. How about you? Do you know that in Christ you are more and you are mightier than any power that will ever come against you? Do you know that no captivity of darkness can hold you any longer? It’s imperative that you rediscover today who you are in Christ.

I am awestruck that the heart of God who has the power to create galaxies with the word of His mouth, can be moved by words from people like you and I. Do you realize how much power we have to move the hand of God? He loves us so much, that when we sinned He couldn’t leave us alone. His hand moved, not the galaxies, but to a cross; so that we might be free to know Him again. Knowing and understanding that love, surely, it’s time to pray.

We lift up the pastor of that church. We pray for a deeper blessing of your Holy Spirit, a deeper burden that only God can put on the heart to all the members of that church and help them Lord to join their pastor in prayer. Thank you for people like Tommy who are concerned about the health of the community and the local church body. The life of the apostle Paul shows us the miraculous change that takes place when people truly come face to face with God. He was a man who was completely self-focused, but when he met God he became completely others-focused. To the point, that he would endure personal hardship rather than inflict it. So that others may find the love of God that he now knew.

If you and I have been touched by God, we have to be touched with the struggles of this generation in which we are living, and the evidence of truly being touched by God is that we will be drawn to the one who can change.

A Simple But Sure Comfort http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/a-simple-but-sure-comfort Thu, 04 Oct 2018 04:01:00 +0000 itstimetopray.org http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=282412 1 Thessalonians chapter 4, beginning at verse 16, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus, we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

I understand that it gets hard living in our present world. It’s also been difficult for others who have come before you. We’re not the first ones to have to go through dark days, but today God’s Word offers you and I a simple, but a sure comfort. This won’t last forever. Jesus Christ the Son of God is coming back to get you.

Until then, remember, it’s time to pray!

An Encounter With the Living God http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/an-encounter-with-the-living-god-2 Wed, 03 Oct 2018 04:01:00 +0000 itstimetopray.org http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=282411 The book of Acts chapter 9 beginning at verse 1, “Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?’

Now Paul had many encounters with man’s view of God, and these encounters with religion left him defensive, empty, and angry. But when Paul met the real God, what a transformation came into his life. He changed from a man who would use people for his own religious objectives to be given completely for the betterment of others. He had an encounter with the living God.

If you’ve had that encounter my friend, it’s time to pray.

Do not trouble the Teacher.’ But when Jesus heard it, He answered him saying, ‘Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.’

Oh, God, help us again in our generation to not be afraid, and to believe. I have a question for you today, do you believe that our cities can be made well again? Do you believe that our schools can be made well? Do you believe that our children can learn to pray and learn to praise God again? Do you believe that God can revive a nation as backslidden as ours is? Do you believe that God can touch New York City? I believe it. Of course, yes, He can, He is God. There is much to be afraid of today. As a matter of fact, Jesus warned us that fear would be one of the predominate characteristics of the final days of this world. Now, in-spite of this though, He promises to be the source of our confidence and strength in such times. Let your thoughts today be about His victory and His promises to keep you in fearful moments. Because of Him you will stand, no matter who around you falls. He promised you, your foot will not be taken in these difficult days.

For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the covering so narrow that one cannot wrap himself in it.

Isaiah is speaking of a time of judgment coming upon a nation that has dealt very casually with the things of God. Just as this country has, and now we’re beginning to experience distress upon distress. It seems like there’s no way out, and those of us who know Christ you might be finding that this season in your life you can’t get comfort no matter what you try to do, and you cry out and say, “why is my bed so short and my blanket so narrow?” My friend it’s because God is calling you to pray for this nation.

They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

In the well-known hymn, “Great is thy Faithfulness”, I find that one of the most inspiring lines holds the words, “morning by morning new mercies I see.” Aren’t you thankful for that? It tells us that, failure the previous day is met by mercy the next morning. It makes every day! This is the day that the Lord has made. Don’t let yesterday’s mistakes define your day today.

You’re listening to me as you’re riding to work, or you’re on the subway, or maybe just reading this before you leave your house. I’m telling you, there is new mercy for you this morning.

Remember, it’s time to pray!

Today I would like you to join with me and pray with Teresa from San Leandro, California for her grandson, here’s what it says, “Please pray for my 20-year-old grandson. As of today he has nowhere to live. He has a job but no car so I drive him. He’s desperate.”

First of all Teresa, I’d like to thank God for you, for being the great grandma that you are, and God will answer your prayer. Lord, we lift up Teresa’s grandson, God we ask you, Lord Jesus Christ, to give him a job, give him direction, give him a heart for You and for Your kingdom. Take away the desperation and show him the hope that belongs to him through a living relationship with You as the Son of God.

We can pray that the sweetness of His presence be felt by others as we sit near them or pass by. God answers prayer.

You Are A Walking Bible http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/you-are-a-walking-bible-2 Wed, 19 Sep 2018 04:01:00 +0000 itstimetopray.org http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=278480 The book 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verses 1 and 2, Paul says these words, “Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

It is true, that truth living in the human heart cannot be hidden. Jesus told us we would know the truth and the truth will make us free. This generation may no longer read a Bible, but my friend, they will read the truth of God in you. Ask God now for the power to love truth and to walk in it. You’ll be amazed, soon, at the number of people who are going to ask you for a reason for the hope that you still have.

It’s time to pray!

Pray for Patricia’s Husband http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/pray-for-patricias-husband Tue, 18 Sep 2018 04:01:00 +0000 itstimetopray.org http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=278479 Every Tuesday night we gather in the heart of New York City for our Worldwide Prayer Meeting. We are seeing so many answers to prayer. You can submit your prayer request to itstimetopray.org.

Today I’d like you to join me in praying with Patricia from the Bronx in New York for her husband. Here is what she says, “pray for my husband to follow Christ like he used to, and to walk away from religion, to come to complete surrender and to the work of the Lord again.”

Lord Jesus Christ, we join with Patricia this day and we lift up her husband to you. God Almighty we ask you to touch this man’s heart. Show him the futility of religion and the great blessing of walking in the power and strength of that inward life of Jesus Christ. We ask you to take the scales off of his eyes, and we ask it in Jesus name.

The Mind of Christ http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/the-mind-of-christ Mon, 17 Sep 2018 04:01:00 +0000 itstimetopray.org http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=278478 Philippians chapter 2, beginning at verse 4, “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.

Jesus Christ lived in the highest possible place; in spite of this, He came down to where we are because He cared about us and saw our need. As His child today, ask for the eyes to see someone who is down. Ask for the heart to care enough to serve them with words and actions that will show the love of God, and as Christ did for you and I, make them glad. Above all, ask for the mind of Christ.
