Psalm 61, verses 2 and 3: “From the end of the earth I will cry to You when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy.”
There’s a song that we sometimes sing here at Times Square Church. Here’s how it goes, it goes: “Take me back, take me back to the place where I first received you. Take me back, take me back where I first believed.” David, the Psalmist, tells us that when all seems to be lost, when we cry out to God, He will take us back to where we have always known Him, to faithfully be our Shelter and our Defender. Let Jesus be to you everything today that He wants to be. Take time, cry out to Him now. He’s not offended by your cry. As a matter of fact, He’s been waiting for it for so long. Let Him set you free.
It’s time to pray.
