Psalm 66, beginning at verse 17, “I cried to Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear. But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me!”
Oh, the incredible mercy of God when we turn towards Him with sincere hearts and words of prayer. Just like the story of the wayward son, when we do pray, we find God running towards us to embrace us-even in our failure. . . to cover us, even though we feel ashamed, to empower us so we can live in true satisfaction, and to invite us to walk with Him.
So the question comes to mind: What are you waiting for? God is waiting to hear the cry of your voice.
It’s time to pray.
