In the gospel of Matthew, chapter 24, Jesus describes the season of sorrow that’s coming into this world. It’s a time of war; it’s a time of violence—nation rising against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines, there will be diseases, and there will be national disasters—perhaps on an unprecedented level.
We look at the news today and we can’t help but wonder: Is it possibly this time that we’re living that Jesus Christ was speaking about? And if it is, He also spoke of endurance; people who are given the ability to endure to the end. We can walk through the flood; we can walk through the fire, preaching the Gospel of this kingdom in all the world as a witness to all nations before the end comes.
Oh, thank God for the hope the Scriptures offer! Thank God for the power He’s willing to give us through prayer. My friend, if ever there’s a time to pray, it’s now!
