We Are the Swaddling Clothes
/

The gospel of Luke, chapter 2, verse 7, says these words: “And she brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloth and laid him in a manger.”

Now Christmas to me is and always has been an incredible time. As you and I revisit in our minds the birth of Jesus Christ, there has to be a sense of awe that such majesty was chosen to be clothed in weakness and humility. Has it ever occurred to you that we as the Church of Jesus Christ are again the frail humanity and, in a sense, the swaddling clothes within which the glory of God dwells? In other words, Jesus Christ has wrapped himself in us! The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for the things they had heard and seen, and so too our voices must be lifted again.

It’s time to pray.
