Proverbs 1, beginning at verse 24, “Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded; because you disdained all my counsel and would have none of my rebuke, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes.”
You know, I always believed that the fateful sinking, like the Titanic on April 15, 1912, was a warning to what lay ahead for humankind. The pride of achievement coupled with a disregard for the warnings of what stood before them virtually insured the coming calamity and terror. We are told as the ship went down, the band played “Nearer My God to Thee.” Though the prayer meeting finally came, it came too late. For you and I, the time is now.
It’s time to pray.
