It’s undeniable as we study the Scriptures that strength, incredible God-breathed strength, is to be the inheritance of God’s people. Think about the early church for a moment as they went into an upper room to pray—most of them feeling like failures, most of them aware of their own frailty. But when they prayed, the power of God came into their lives as they stepped out of the upper room and into the marketplace, filled with compassion for people who were looking for God but didn’t know where to find Him. And as they began to speak, they spoke with such authority, with such power, with such vision.
Peter stood up and said, “This is that which was spoken about by the prophet Joel.” I don’t think that you and I should be content to say anything less to this generation than, “Looking at my life, you’re seeing what God promised to do and to be in all people!”
It’s time for you and me to pray!
