The Voice of Praying

Acts, chapter 27 tells us about 276 taking a journey that ended in collapse and calamity. You can only imagine the confusion and opinions that were coming from all of these voices on the ship. People blaming others, some desiring vengeance. Others filled with anguish, some perhaps offering false hope.

But in all of it, only one voice made the difference. Only one voice brought things back to order, restored direction, gave focus and true hope—it was the voice of a praying man who had heard from God. Listen to the words of Paul: “There stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am and whom I serve, saying, ‘Fear not, Paul, thou must be brought before Caesar, and lo, God has given thee all them that sail with thee.’ Wherefore sirs, be of good cheer, for I believe God that it shall be even as it was told me.” We need to pray again.

It’s time to pray.
