In the Old Testament, there was a man called Nehemiah. Though he was just an ordinary man, an ordinary person just like you and me, he had a vision for the future. His vision involves something that you and I need to lay hold of today. Listen to his words in Nehemiah 4, verse 14: “I looked and rose up, and said to the nobles and to the leaders and to the rest of the them, ‘Do not be afraid of them: remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.'”
He was a man of prayer who knew that the present battle he was fighting was for the future. He knew that he had a weapon at his disposal that was unfamiliar to the adversaries-the weapon of prayer. He knew how powerful God can be. And he was fighting for the future of his nation and its people as he did.
You and I must pray and believe for His glory and presence to be there in the future of our sons and our daughters and our families and our nation.
It’s time to pray.
