Psalm 32 and verse 3 says this: “When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long.” There’s a verse in the old hymn “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” that says, “Oh what peace we often forfeit, oh what pain we often bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.”
How odd it can be that we choose to ache inside and we choose to suffer in silence when the One who created all things and can re-create anything says these words to us: “Until now, you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy might be full.”
Now you can choose to stay outside the storehouse as long as you want, but I tell you, my friend, I’m going in! And I’m going to ask because the supply is for free.
It’s time to pray.
