The Old Testament tells us of a mighty man of God called Samson. He was given incredible power in order to deliver his people. But he began to flirt with a harlot called Delilah, who asked him the question, “Tell me, how might you be bound, and your strength taken away?”
Eventually he told her. He said, “I have been a Nazarite; I have been separated to God from my mother’s womb. If my separation is taken away, I’ll become weak and become like any other man.”
The central voices of this age have pursued the people of God to take away our strength and our influence over society. As Samson eventually was, we, too, are mocked in the public marketplace for our lack of strength and our lack of vision. But Samson began to pray that his strength would return. God came upon him one more time, and he brought down this house of mockery. We must pray that our separation return.
It’s time to pray.
