First Kings, chapter 19, verse 13, “So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him and said, ‘what are you doing here, Elijah?’“
Many people live in dread of the holiday seasons, because of the emptiness and the pain which they often bring. The feeling of being alone, coupled with unpleasant memories from the past often leads to what I call, “the holiday blues.”
Let the small, still voice of God help you to escape this place, this year. He will tell you of His closeness, His love, and the plans that He has for your future. Maybe, just maybe, He’ll invite you as the shepherds once were, to sing with the angels. If you will let Him, He will open your eyes and heart to something much bigger and much better than your pain.
Remember my friend, it’s time to pray.
