Psalm 85, verses 6 and 7: The Psalmist cries out, “Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You? Show us your mercy, Lord, and grant us Your salvation.”
I want to read to you from a historical account of the great awakening that happened in the year 1905. It first burst out in the east like a sweeping fire in the eastern states. The Methodists in Philadelphia soon had over 6,000 new converts in membership. The ministers of Atlantic City claimed there were only 50 adults left unconverted in the population of 60,000. Churches in New York City took in hundreds on a single Sunday. It rolled like a tidal wave through the south for prayer and confession and adding thousands of people daily to the membership rolls.
Oh, my beloved friend, it’s time to pray.
