The Gospel of Luke, chapter 21, verse 26: “Men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”
Everything around us, today, bears witness to these days in which Jesus spoke of-with the abnormal becoming normal to the unthinkable occupying everyday thought. Every morning seems to call out to us to embrace some new fear. How can we be a witness of the good news of God when common fears tug at our own hearts also?
It was King David who gave us the answer in Psalm 61, verse 2. He said, “From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”
O God, lead us again. It’s time to pray.
