We know that our prayers are becoming effective when we begin to recognize and appreciate others who are also attempting to stand for God’s truth in our day. The book of Colossians, chapter 1 and verse 3 says this: “We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you.”
Now Paul was telling these people, “Since I heard of your faith and love, we pray for spiritual strength to increase in you.” You and I must today recognize the Body of Jesus Christ and pray beyond the walls of our own churches. None of us can do this alone.
Here at Times Square Church in our prayer meetings, we’re beginning to pray for churches in the city, often times by name. We pray for other believers in Christ, recognizing that we are all in this battle together. And as God lives, we need one another.
It’s time to pray!
