Prayer For A New Day
/

In the book of First Kings, chapter 18, verses 37-39, the prophet Elijah prayed a prayer that brought in a new day: “Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.” Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it licked up the water that was in the trench. Now when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces; and they said, “The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!”

This man of God’s prayer brought in a new year. And it’s time for you and I to pray like we have never prayed before and say, “God, hear me! God, hear me! Do something in my life that everyone around me-my family, my friends, my community, my associates-will know that You are God because they will see the passion of Your presence in my life.

It’s time to pray.

Father God, how much I need this prayer to become a reality in my life. Put to silence those that say that "If being a Christian means that you lose everything and everyone then what kind of God are you serving"? Yet my cry goes out to You, Oh God, day and night, that Your will be done in my life. That the Name of my beloved Savior Jesus Christ be glorified in and through me; so that with their eyes they'll see and have to say like the people in First Kings said before God and the Prophet Elijah "The Lord, He is God!, The Lord, He is God!" Thank you Pastor Carter for your encouragement today. In Jesus Name is my Hope
