The words of the Apostle Paul in First Thessalonians chapter 5 and verse 17 says this: “Pray without ceasing.” You know, without doubt, these are daunting words in the New Testament. As a young follower of Christ, I used to wonder, “How are we supposed to actually do that?” You know, the confusion was because of how I viewed prayer-the posture, place and the approach. How could I do that without ceasing?
In the early years, truthfully, I found one hour of prayer exhausting. How could I possible pray the other 23 hours in the day? Well, today I know the answer. Christ lives in me. By His Holy Spirit, He has made my body His temple. Now that means He is always with me, closer than a brother. I can talk to Him all day, just like I would talk to you as my friend.
It’s time to pray.
