God Loves You Deeply

God Loves You Deeply

Psalm 38, beginning at verse 6, the psalmist says: “I am troubled. I am bowed down greatly. I’ve been mourning all the day long, for my loins are full of inflammation, and there is no soundness in my flesh. I am feeble and sorely broken. I groan because of the turmoil in my heart.”

I wish you could understand how deeply you’re loved of God. You might not be feeling that way. You might be feeling that there is no soundness inside of you. You might be wondering why God hasn’t cast you out of His presence. My friend, you don’t know how deeply you are loved of God. He loved you so much He sent His only begotten son to pay a terrible price on the cross so that He could get you back. Look in Scriptures. Who got the miracles? Was it not people who, in themselves, knew they had nothing to offer to God? But what they had was a cry. “Oh thou Son of David, have mercy on me!”

It’s time for you and I to pray.

Evil Speaking

Evil Speaking

Psalm 34, beginning at verse 14: “Depart from evil, and do good. Seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them in the earth. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears.”

I’m very, very concerned about the evil speaking that has become part of our present-day culture. The word of caution I’d like to bring to you today is that believers in Jesus Christ—if you and I are going to make a difference, if you and I are going to go to the throne of God, if our prayers are going to be heard, we have to put away from evil speaking. We have to be ambassadors of peace, seeking it and pursuing it. The Bible says that God will listen to us, and God will hear our cry when we choose to walk and do to do what is right.

God Lifts You Up

God Lifts You Up

Psalm 71, verses 20 and 21: “You who have shown me great and severe troubles shall revive me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth. You shall increase my greatness and comfort me on every side.”

You know, my friend, these words couldn’t have been written except by somebody who’s known what it’s like to be down and has had the pleasure of experiencing the hand of God lifting him up again. I know what that feels like, I’ve been there. I’ve been there more than once in my lifetime. I remember being so sick one time that I cried out to God, and God heard my prayer, and He lifted me out of the situation that could have overwhelmed me in the natural. And He revived me again and He brought me up form the depths of the earth. And He increased the ministry that He gave to me and brought me comfort on every side.

Please, please, it’s time to pray.

God Heard My Prayer

God Heard My Prayer

Psalm 102 verses 17-18 says this: “He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and shall not despise their prayer. This will be written for the generations to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.”

God has always proven Himself faithful in days gone by. He has taken people not in our strength, but in our weakness. His power has come upon those who have no power within themselves. Out of the ashes of human failure He has raised again a beautiful testimony about who He is and what He is able to do. Don’t think for a moment that because you might be down that God despises your prayer. You’re never bankrupt; God has given you a voice, He’s given you a heart to believe. Go to the throne of God and let your words come before Him and say, “Lord I’m that person you wrote about. I’m coming to You, and I’m believing.”

It’s time to pray.

Pass Knowledge onto the Next Generation

Pass Knowledge onto the Next Generation

Psalm 71 verses 17-18 says this: “Oh God, you have taught me from my youth, and to this day, I declare Your wondrous works. Now also, when I am old and gray headed, oh God, do not forsake me, until I declare your strength to this generation, your power to everyone who is to come.”

One of the tragedies I think that happens in any generation is when those of us who have walked with God for many, many years and have been kept by the power of God fail in our responsibility to pass that knowledge on to the next generation. The prophet Malachi in chapter 4 speaking of the days just prior to the Lord’s coming said there’s going to be a voice raised, and that voice would cause the hearts of the fathers to turn back to the children, and the children back to their fathers.

For those of us who know God, it’s time to pray.

Healing Power of God

Healing Power of God

The book of Acts, chapter 28, verses 8 and 9 tell us that when the storm was over, the hands of Paul became instruments of the healing power of God. I believe that many in our time to come will return to the first love of the church of Jesus Christ. You and I are reaching out for the poor, bringing healing to the broken-hearted, opening prison doors to those that are bound, comforting the wounded, and leading many, many people out of darkness.

Yes, I truly believe that some wonderful, wonderful days are soon to come. I challenge you with all my heart to join me if you will in the closet of prayer. Talk to God—pour out your heart before Him. Seek His strength while His strength still may be able to be found, and trust the Lord to stretch His hand of healing out through your life, and that you and I have an incredible opportunity in the days just ahead to make a tremendous difference for good.

It’s time to pray.
