Glory of the Lord

2 Chronicles chapter 5, verses 13 and 14: “It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.”

I believe that they glory of the Lord can fill the house of God again. Jesus stood in a place of death in the New Testament and said, “Did I not tell you that if you would believe, you would see the glory of God?” I believe that through prayer we can ask God to call our dead situations in this life and society back to life again.

It is time to pray.

Stealing the Future

The gospel of Mark, chapter 11 verses 15-17 says, “They came to Jerusalem, and Jesus went into the temple and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers and the seats of them that sold doves; and would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple. And He taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? But you have made it a den of thieves.”

The house of God had become a causal place. People had forgotten that it that it was in the heart of God to answer prayer—to give freedom, deliverance, and victory to those who would come and call out to Him in sincerity and in truth. Is it not true that when we stop praying, we steal the future from our children? Think about these things, my friend.

And it’s time for you and I to pray again.

Delivered Out of Distress

Psalm 107 tells you and me some incredible things about prayer. First and foremost, is that you and I can pray wherever we are. When you read through this Psalm, you’ll see that people who were in the city—those who were alone, lonely, finding no place, hungry, thirsty, whose soul was fainting in them—cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.

It speaks about those who were alone at home, sitting in darkness. They began to cry out to God, and God delivered them out of their distresses. Those who were sitting in church, perhaps, who had rebelled against the words of God and found themselves sitting in darkness, cried—and He sent His Word to them and healed them. Those who were in the workplace not knowing how they were going to get through their difficulty began to cry, and God delivered them out of their distresses. The beauty of it is that you can pray wherever you are!

It’s time to pray.

Divine Blessings

Psalm 40 tells us about the amazing victory that God is willing to give us when we pray. Listen to these incredible words: “I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined unto me and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings. And He has put a new song in my mouth. Even praise to our God; many shall see it and fear and shall trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust and respects not the proud nor such as turn aside to lies.”

God promises us freedom from living under a sense of hopelessness. He will give us strength, gladness, direction, and confidence that He will turn the hearts of many to God in troubled times. And He promises a divine blessing which is not available to those who reject God and love falsehood.

Oh, my beloved brother and sister, it is time to pray.

One Praying Man

In the book of Acts, chapter 27, we have the story of a people who decided to undertake a journey. But in undertaking that journey, they disregarded the words that came from God through one of His servants. Because of this, the journey took on a storm-like quality that they had never anticipated was going to happen to them. Suddenly everything was out of their control—things were starting to fall apart; opinions about survival seemed to be abounding on every side.

When it became evident that everything was falling apart and their journey was going to end in disaster, the only thing that could make a difference was one praying man called the apostle Paul.

Don’t think of yourself as insignificant. Don’t think of yourself as too small a player to make a difference in this generation that you and I are living in. You can go to your prayer closet, you can go to a prayer meeting, you can go to your church. You can pray. You can make a difference!

It is time to pray.

Be Now Removed

The Gospel of Mark, chapter 11 verses 22 to 24:

“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

My question to you today is: What kind of a future do we want to leave for our children? What kind of a society do we want surrounding them? What kind of an education do we want to give them? We are facing mountains in our generation, but according to the Word of God, we have authority to command these things to be cast into the sea. We need to pray like we’ve never prayed before.
