Out of the Belly of Hell

There are many people listening to my voice today who feel like they really can’t pray. You would say to me, “How could I possibly pray if you knew my struggles trials and difficulty? How could my voice and my life ever make a difference for anybody in this generation?”

Such was the case the prophet Jonah in the Old Testament. Listen to what he said: “I cried to the Lord because of my afflictions, and He answered me out of the belly of Sheol.” That means, “I was in an impossible place. I cried, and You heard my voice and You brought up my life from the pit, oh Lord my God. When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord, and my prayer went up to You into Your holy temple.”

And you of course know what God did. He spoke through this situation, brought him out of the place of impossibility and brought him right into the place where his life can have an effect on his generation.

It’s time to pray.
