The book of Second Kings, chapter 22 speaks to you and me of a young king, Josiah, who discovered that his nation’s deceitful handling of the Word of God had set the people on a course of deserved ruins. But he began to pray, and when he prayed, God answered him.
Listen to the words that came to him: “‘Because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the Lord when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they would become a desolation and a curse, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,’ says the Lord.”
It is amazing today to know the end of that story—the great awakening happened because of this young man. When he began to pray, his words made a difference. When you and I began to pray, our words too, in this day in which we live, can make a difference. It can turn the course of history.
It’s time to pray.
