Proverbs 31, beginning at verse 8: “Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously and plead the cause of the poor and needy.”
If we truly want a spiritual awakening in our day, then we must expand the border of our hearts and cease the lifting of our voices only for our own benefit. Just as children do, many of God’s people open their mouth just to see what new thing it can consume. Self-focus in the house of God has greatly weakened the testimony of Christ in our society. We must now call out the lives of those who cannot yet speak but yet are appointed to die, and for those who do live, yet they live in poverty and disadvantage.
It’s time to pray.
