The book of Revelation, chapter 7, verses 9 to 11, describes a scene before the throne of God, of a great multitude of people lifting up their voices with one accord crying out to God. Verse 11 says all the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne of God and worshiped God.
There is such incredible power in unity, when the collective voices of the people are raised in one accord. Even the captives of the people of God in Old Testament Egypt knew that they were more and mightier than they realized. I wonder who at the throne of God raised his or her voice first. Did they have to fight through the thought: “Does my voice matter?” Could he have realized that choosing to sing would lead to such a moment of surrender to God? This election, your vote counts. Though you might feel all alone, watch again what one vote can do.
It’s time to pray.
