The Gospel of Matthew 19:16-21, tells us of a very wealthy and religiously zealous young man who, in the presence of Jesus, seemed to feel that something in himself was missing. Now as he did, we today would be wise to ask the same question to Jesus, “What do I still lack? Why as the body of Christ are we gathering on every corner, yet not seriously affecting our communities?”
Jesus told him to let go of that in which he come to trust. In our case, if that in which we come to trust, our resources, our methods and other things are leaving us empty, then we must be willing to let it go, and decide from this day forward we are going to walk with Jesus. It all starts with you and I returning to prayer.
Now, this young man walked away from the call on his life, but you and I are given a chance to pray.
It’s time to pray.
