2 Samuel, chapter 22, beginning at verse 29: “For You are my lamp, O Lord; the Lord will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop; by my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.”
There had been a time in David’s before he became king when everything seemed hopeless. He was walled in by people who sought him harm; he couldn’t go forward. Behind him were threats and accusations. He describes it as a period of darkness in his life.
It was at this time he made the choice to call out to God, and when he did, he found power to go forward and protection from all that he feared. In actuality, you and I know today that he was on the road to becoming king.
It’s time to pray.
