Mary's Offering
/

The gospel of John chapter 12 verses 3 to 5 says these words, “Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, ‘why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?’

Now Mary’s offering was a type of prayer that sees Jesus Christ as the one who holds the keys to solving all of life’s problems. She had, in fact, seen Him even bring death back to life.

In the same room though, was another man, Judas, a man of action with no time for true and meaningful prayer. When you and I consider his end, we can only come to one conclusion: for you and I, it’s time to pray!
