Let the Wicked Have No Testimony

Psalm 31, beginning at verse 17, “Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon You; let the wicked be ashamed; let them be silent in the grave. Let the lying lips be put to silence, which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.”

In this Psalm, King David is asking the Lord for a specific thing: “Dear God, let the wicked have no testimony of victory after their season on earth is over. Let the testimony of their lives be nothing but silence. Overpower them with Your words, O God.”

Then David goes on to say these words in verse 19, “Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You. Let the testimony of Your goodness be all that prevails when our time also comes to an end!”

It’s time to pray.

    Dear Pastor Conlon,

We are experiencing religious persecution in my state of Kentucky. Please have the church pray for Mrs. Kim Davis, the clerk who has been taken to jail because of her faith!

    Respectfully,
