In the gospel of John, chapter 21, verse 4 to 6: “But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood at the shore, yet the disciples did not know it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them, “Children have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.”
In this story, you and I see what happens when the voices and thoughts of men begin to exclusively lead the church. They labored all night with so little to show for their work. It was the dawn, however, of a new day, and the voice of God began calling to them again.
I don’t know if you hear what I hear, but I can hear Him calling to us again to pray—to find our source of life and power and strength in Him. Oh, thank God they obeyed Him!
It’s time to pray!
