Matthew 10:38–39: “And he who does not take his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.”
It’s about time somebody said it. Self-seeking Christianity is, in fact, most times not Christianity at all. Christ came to be given for others and to save those who are lost. He calls us to engage in and follow this passion of His heart.
To use the cross for the sole pursuit of self is no different than the Roman soldiers gambling at the foot of the cross for His clothing. Go ahead and debate me if you will, but ultimately Jesus says that continuous self-seeking is not worthy of Him.
Remember my brother, my sister, it’s time to pray.
