Psalm 127, verse 2 says: “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.” I can’t help but wonder if this might not be for many people the most worry-some time they have ever known. Fears for children, provision, retirement, safety, health-just to name a few-are keeping multitudes awake every night and often all night.
I want you to consider today the words of Jesus in John chapter 14, verse 27: “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, and neither let it be afraid.”
My friend, it’s time to sleep. But before you go to sleep, remember it’s time to pray.
