In the Quiet Times

The first part of Psalm 46, verse 10 says this: “Be still, and know that I am God.” I am reminded today that when Elijah became weary, God strengthened him by speaking to him in a small, still voice.

Years ago, I remember waking up in the middle of the night with an awareness that the presence of God had literally flooded my room. I got up; I walked into the living room. I sat down, expecting something from Him. The only thing I heard Him say to me was, “Hi. I just wanted to spend time with you.” For the next hour, we both sat there in silence, but what a wonderful and strengthening time it was!

Then after one hour, He spoke to me again. He unfolded the complete message before me and said, “This is what I want you to speak next Sunday. Now go back to bed.”

It’s time to pray.

There has been much weighing on my heart. The Lord has been putting this verse in my heart for the past 2 weeks...more so today. I will seek The Lord to be still before Him. Thank you Lord for using today's devotion to give me confirmation that you are listening.
