In the book of Acts, chapter two, a murderous spirit took over society, and they were occupied by a foreign nation called Rome. In an upper room, 120 people without power or political authority gathered in unity to pray.
They were there to see the risen Christ glorified and felt they were called to preach the gospel. As they began to pray, God’s Holy Spirit filled the room. People were given power, ability, and courage that natural people don’t have. They stepped out of that upper room, went into the public square, and in just a few short years, even the nation of Rome bent its knee to the presence of Jesus Christ.
When the church walks together in unity, and when the church begins to pray, the presence of God is released, and society begins to change—miracles happen. Oh God, help us to pray again.
It’s time to pray.
