John chapter 4, beginning at verse 9: “Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, ‘How is it that you, being a Jew, ask drink from me, a Samaritan woman? For Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.’ Jesus answered and said to her, ‘If you knew the gift of God, and who is it that says to you, “Give me a drink,” you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.'”
So many people feel distant from God and feel that He is not interested in them. Not so. This story tells us that Jesus will come to us at times in our lives when we would least expect that He should. Remember that He comes to you with a question: “Are you satisfied with life? Are you thirsty for something more? If you knew My desire for you, you would ask Me now, and I would give you real, true, and everlasting life.”
It’s time to pray.
