2 Samuel chapter 18 and verse 33, “Then the king was deeply moved and went up to the chamber over the gate and wept. And as he went he said thus; oh, my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom if only I had died in your place. Oh Absalom, my son, my son.“
I am personally saddened today at the report of another suicide of another high-profile person. Though outwardly once successful, he couldn’t escape the inner pull towards a life of violence and darkness. His final act of violence was against himself. If only he had heard the cry of God for his soul, the one, who in fact, had died so that he might have life. The only way others will ever hear it, is from those of us who know Christ in an intimate way.
It’s time for you and I to cry out for them. It’s time to pray.
