I Sought For A Man

In the book of Ezekiel, chapter 22, verses 23-31, the prophet Ezekiel speaks about a nation in history that had become so corrupt that it was in danger of collapsing under the weight of its own disregard for the ways of God. It was a tragic social situation. The prophets were taking away the strength of the people. Priests standing in the temple of God were not showing the people the difference between the clean and the unclean anymore. Government leaders were violent in their speech, and everyone was out for his own gain and no longer the good of the people. The people of the land had become oppressive and selfish, disregarding the needs of the hungry and the stranger.

God says, “I looked for a man among them (somebody that could stand between where the nation was going and where God’s mercy could bring it), but I couldn’t find anybody.”

Oh my friend, you and I need to pray now.
