The gospel of John chapter 21, beginning at verse 4: “But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.”
It seems to me that many of God’s people, as with Peter and friends, have fished for the souls of men for such a long time with such little results. Suddenly, at the dawn of a new day, the disciples heard a voice calling out to them. For you and I, it’s a new day. Jesus is crying out to us to bring in the final harvest! If we lay down our own ways and listen to His voice, we can be confident that the fish are coming our way.
It’s time to pray.
