Psalm 199, beginning at verse 141, “I am small and despised, yet I do not forget Your precepts. Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth. Trouble and anguish have overtaken me, yet Your commandments are my delights. The righteousness of Your testimonies is everlasting; give me understanding, and I shall live.”
The psalmist is saying, “Lord, I feel small. I feel despised and deeply troubled. Wickedness is on every side because people have forgotten Your words. Yet what You have said is right, and it will outlast everything that opposes it. Help me to regain my confidence in Your words. And please, keep me in the eternal peace which they do promise.”
It’s time to pray.
