Gospel of Luke, chapter 2, verse 43 to 45: “When they had finished the days, as they returned, the boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it; but supposing Him to have been in the company, they went a day’s journey, and sought Him among their relatives and acquaintances. So when they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem, seeking Him.”
There’s probably nothing that brings more sorrow to a mother’s heart than finding out that the child you thought was with you on the journey actually wasn’t. The days that Mary sought her son must have seemed like eternity with every increasing sorrow. What a joy and surprise to find out that the whole time, nothing had been lost. The plan of God was unfolding exactly as it should.
This Mother’s Day, put your children back into the hands of God. He cannot and will not fail you!
It’s time to pray.
