God Is Not Offended By Honest Prayers

Psalm 30, beginning at verse 8, “I cried out to You, O Lord; and to the Lord I made supplication. ‘What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me; Lord, be my helper!’

David prayed from his heart, and the one thing we see from David’s prayers in the Psalms is that God is not offended by honest prayer. He doesn’t expect pretense to come from the hearts of you and I when we come to His throne. He expects us to say things that are on our heart. Ironically, He already knows. He knows our thoughts before our words are even formed. He loves an honest heart.

Listen to the end results of honesty: David says, “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, to the end that my glories may sing praise to You and not be silent.

It’s time to pray.
