For the Sins of Their Mouth
/

Psalm 140 beginning at verse 1, “Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; Preserve me from violent men, who plan evil things in their hearts; they continually gather together for war. They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; the poison of asps is under their lips.

Psalm 59 and verse 12 says, “For the sin of their mouths and the words of their lips, Let them even be taken in their pride, and for cursing and lying which they speak.

How shameful it is today, to hear of media personalities and even politicians cursing and lying as if there will be no present or future consequence for their words. They stand as poor examples to our children and they lead others into the same weakness that they have embraced. As the people of God, it is incumbent that we now pray for national deliverance from both them, and their speech.

It’s time to pray!

I praise God for your wisdom. You have a very neutral position on this devotional. You wrote one recently where you mentioned President Trump. Although I agree with the Bible foundation of the message. I was afraid people can read it as an endorsement on your part of a specific political party or personality. It concerns me that it could damage the mission/vision you and TSC have to preach Christ because our country (unfortunately)is very divided.
