In the gospel of Luke, chapter 4, Jesus stood in the pulpit and read these words, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed me to teach the gospel to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind and to set at liberty them that are bruised; to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
He closed the book and gave it to the minister and sat down. The eyes of all that were in the synagogue were fastened on Him, and He began to say unto them, “This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
The ministry of Jesus Christ was all about others. I am deeply thankful for that, and I know that you are as well. We have to ask ourselves the question, “Are we following in the footsteps of our Master? Is this what our following of Christ is really all about? Is it about other people?”
It’s time to pray.
