Psalm 56 beginning at verse 1, “Be merciful to be Oh God, for man would swallow me up. Fighting all day, he oppresses me. My enemies would hound me all day for there are many who fight against me oh most high. Whenever I am afraid I will trust in you.“
It’s not wrong to be afraid. With all that you and I now have to face every day, fear of the future is a very real thing. A friend of mine, a former military general, says that there is no such thing as a soldier going into battle without a measure of fear in his heart. He has though learned to fight through his fear and keep his mind on his purpose and on his training.
In the same way you and I have a divine purpose and our minds have been trained by God to fix our eyes on the goal before us. That Christ be glorified, and souls be saved is a noble cause indeed. Remember, it’s now to pray.
