Call to the Nation – it's time to pray. http://itstimetopray.org Tue, 30 May 2017 04:10:01 +0000 en-US hourly 1 His Mercy Endures Forever http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/his-mercy-endures-forever/ http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/his-mercy-endures-forever/#respond Tue, 30 May 2017 04:01:00 +0000 http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=203832 Psalm 107 verse 1, “Oh, give thanks to the Lord for he is good, for his mercy endures forever.

I would encourage you today to read this psalm in its entirety. In it, you will find afresh how merciful God really is. Though we would be inclined to withhold from certain people, God doesn’t. Though people be lost, empty, rebellious against the truth that they already know, sinful to the point of losing life, and loving money more than God; yet when they cry out to Him, He comes to their aid. He satisfies their longing, breaks their chains, sets them free, calms their hearts, and gives them a new song of gladness. Maybe it’s time for you to experience His mercy today. Don’t be too ashamed to cry out for help.

It’s time to pray.

And They Prayed Again http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/and-they-prayed-again/ http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/and-they-prayed-again/#respond Mon, 29 May 2017 04:01:00 +0000 http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=203831 James chapter 5 and verse 18, “And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

Throughout history, great good has come to people when they have made the choice to pray. The record of miracles abounds. Unarguably, millions have been turned from weakness to strength, from corruption to compassion, from confusion to clear direction. Whole societies throughout history have been transformed by the presence of God. When you and I stop to consider our world today, the best that future generations could record of us are simply these words, “And they prayed again!”

My brother my sister, it’s time for us to pray again. It’s time for us to believe that God is able to bring revival to our generation, to bring beauty out of the ashes of our present moment.

It’s time to pray!

The Necessity of Weakness http://itstimetopray.org/call-to-the-nation/the-necessity-of-weakness/ http://itstimetopray.org/call-to-the-nation/the-necessity-of-weakness/#respond Sun, 28 May 2017 04:01:56 +0000 http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=call&p=203838 When we are facing a flood of godlessness trying to purport itself as good; when we are at a moment in history when we are being marginalized; when we are being vilified; when we are being pushed to the sidelines of society, Jesus Christ, because of His mercy, will make His church aware of our need of Him again. By mercy and grace, just like he did with Paul, God will allow this buffeting of His body to finally bring us to the place of saying, “God, we can’t do this without you!” To finally bring us to the place where we, in humility, go back to prayer again.

Humankind typically despises weakness. We have a tendency throughout history to shun the simplicity of faith and gravitate to something more visual, more hands-on, more self-satisfying. Do we live our whole life trying to get out of the very things that God has sent to make us strong? God says, I have to make you weak first, so you can be strong because your strength is not in yourself! Your strength is in Me; it’s in the power of My Spirit within your life. But it only comes when we are out of the way. It’s the ultimate irony in a sense when we become weak, we become strong.

A New Future http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/a-new-future/ http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/a-new-future/#respond Fri, 26 May 2017 04:01:00 +0000 http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=203830 Book of Acts chapter 9 beginning at verse 40, “Then Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, ‘Tabitha arise.’ And she opened her eyes and when she saw Peter she sat up. Then he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he called the saints and widows he presented her alive. And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord.

You are listening to this today and just like the person in the story, you feel that your life is gone. Weeping about the past is all that remains where you are. Many at Times Square Church and around the world are on the internet now praying for you. We ask you today to look up and receive the hope that God now wants to put into your heart. Then, let His hand touch yours, and help you to get up. God gives those who trust in Him a new life and a new future.

It’s time to pray!

The Answer To Paul’s Prayer http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/the-answer-to-pauls-prayer/ http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/the-answer-to-pauls-prayer/#respond Thu, 25 May 2017 04:01:00 +0000 http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=203829 Acts chapter 9 and verse 6, “So he, trembling and astonished said, Lord what do you want me to do? Then the Lord said to him, ‘Arise and go into the city and you will be told what you must do.’

I absolutely love the answer to Paul’s prayer. Now Paul was a brand new convert, a fresh follower of Jesus Christ. It offers me hope, it offers you hope when we first decide to pray. The Lord basically told Paul, “Just go into the city, go about your business, and the new pathway that I’ve established for your life will just unfold before you. Today in your car or on the subway–wherever you are the same word applies to you. If you sincerely want to follow the ways of God, He will open the new path clearly as you walk with Him. I’m telling you today, you will see it.

Remember now, it’s time to pray!

A Simple Prayer That Changed History http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/a-simple-prayer-that-changed-history/ http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/a-simple-prayer-that-changed-history/#respond Wed, 24 May 2017 04:01:00 +0000 http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=203828 Acts chapter 9 and verse 6, “So he, trembling and astonished said, Lord what do you want me to do? Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city and you will be told what you must do.

You and I sometimes get entrapped by our own ideas of what kind of prayer gets powerful results. We sweat, we plead, we beg, we marathon speak and many such things, when sometimes the simplest prayers get the most profound results.

Multiples of millions of lives were about to be changed by the simple prayer of one person: the apostle Paul who said, “Lord what do you want me to do?” ‘Go into the city and you’ll be told what you must do’ was the answer just as simple as the prayer had been. Today, would you have the courage my friend to ask God what He wants you to do? Go ahead, just ask Him.

It’s time to pray!

WOW! http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/wow/ http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/wow/#respond Tue, 23 May 2017 04:01:00 +0000 http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=203827 In the heart of New York City people are gathering for an explosive time of prayer every Tuesday night at 7PM Eastern Time. And we’re being joined with people from over 190 countries live online for this powerful time of prayer. Our Worldwide Prayer meeting is a time to pray for others, and we’re seeing so many of our prayers answered.

Here’s some examples, Ira from Maryland says, “Praise God for answering the consistent prayers of the righteous. Aaron, suffering a traumatic brain injury has recovered, and is driving. Thank you for your faithful prayers in Christ’s love.”

David from California says, “Tuesday during the service I prayed with my wife about a painful nerve injury to my hand, could only slightly move my fingers and could not make a fist. But after prayer, I have full mobility and no pain, WOW!”, David says. We say that with you too David.

It’s time to pray!

Taking Captivity Captive http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/taking-captivity-captive/ http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/taking-captivity-captive/#respond Mon, 22 May 2017 04:01:00 +0000 http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=203826 Ephesians chapter 4 and verse 8, “Therefore he says, when he ascended on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts to men.

There’s a story in the Bible where a young prophet, called Elisha, took captive an enemy army that had arrived to captivate the people of God. He did it through prayer. He led the whole army to a place where they were vulnerable, but instead of harming them, he fed them, and sent them home.

Today, you and I have this same authority. We can pray that even the enemies of God suddenly become aware of the peril of their condition. Then, through our kindness, may they return to their homes knowing that God is love. Yes, we have this authority; it’s ours in Christ.

Remember now, it’s time to pray!

The Journey of a Lifetime! http://itstimetopray.org/call-to-the-nation/the-journey-of-a-lifetime/ http://itstimetopray.org/call-to-the-nation/the-journey-of-a-lifetime/#respond Sun, 21 May 2017 04:01:14 +0000 http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=call&p=203836 Now the Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you’” (Genesis 12:1). In spite of this incredible promise, the descendants of Abraham ended up in another place and in another spiritual condition serving their taskmasters. Like many of God’s people, you may have settled in a place that is far short of what you’re called to be, and you’re doing things that you know you shouldn’t be doing. A little bit of sexual play, a little snort; a little peek, what can it hurt? Then these things that offered you comfort become your taskmaster.

God in His mercy would not leave His own people in captivity, and neither will He leave you in captivity when you make the choice to cry out to Him. So cry out to Him. God will free you and take you on an incredible journey. It won’t be a journey where you’re always running from your former enemies, but a journey with a song and a vision that will give you the endurance to get through even the hottest fire and the deepest river.

Testing the Limits of God http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/testing-the-limits-of-god/ http://itstimetopray.org/radio-devotionals/testing-the-limits-of-god/#respond Fri, 19 May 2017 04:01:00 +0000 http://itstimetopray.org/?post_type=podcast&p=203825 Genesis chapter 7 beginning at verse 11, “In the 600th year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the 17th day of the month; on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up and the windows of heaven were opened, and the rain was on the earth 40 days and 40 nights.

A day that few believed would come had suddenly come. There is a point of evil behavior among people that God will no longer will overlook. The resistance of men towards truth causes them to believe that they can behave any way and call any evil good while somehow being immune from the consequences that came to those that went before them.

This is the peril of our time. As a society we are unwittingly testing the limits of God. I remind you that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. It is time to think about these things.

It’s time to pray!
