Proverbs chapter 29, verse 2 says that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn. So as the people of God what should our response be to the leadership in our generation?
Listen to what the apostle Paul says in 1 Timothy, chapter 2, verses 1 to 4: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
It is time for you and I, as the people of God, to cease our evil speaking about the leaders in our generation.
It’s time to pray.
