Psalm 18, beginning at verse 4: “The pangs of death surrounded me, and the floods of ungodliness made me afraid. The sorrows of hell surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears.”

Even the strong and talented can sometimes be overwhelmed by adversity. David was a man of courage, a fearless fighter, a skilled administrator, a man of wisdom, and an extremely gifted musician. His greatest gift, however, was his humility. He knew that he needed help outside his own abilities to complete his life’s journey. My friend, don’t be too proud to pray. God will heal you. God will help you.

Remember, it’s time to pray.
