The book of Jeremiah, chapter 29, beginning at verse 11: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity.”
From the beginning of this world, God created humankind to be His friends. Though that was clearly His intent, many in this world have walked away from Him, only to find themselves in places of sorrow and hopelessness.
Yet even from there, He still wants to set us free. It’s as simple as this: He tells us to pray, and He will set us free. Why don’t you pray today trust Him to be faithful to His promises to you?
It’s time to pray.
