Delivered Out of Distress

Psalm 107 tells you and me some incredible things about prayer. First and foremost, that you and I can pray wherever we are. When you read through this psalm, you’ll see that people who were in the city-those who were alone, lonely, finding no place, hungry, thirsty, whose soul was fainting in them-cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.

It speaks about those who were alone at home, sitting in darkness. They began to cry out to God, and God delivered them out of their distresses. Those who were sitting in church, perhaps who had rebelled against the words of God and found themselves sitting in darkness, cried-and He sent His Word to them and healed them.

Those who were in the workplace, not knowing how they were going to get through their difficulty, began to cry-and God delivered them out of their distresses.

The beauty of it is that you can pray wherever you are!

It’s time to pray.

Thank you Pastor Carter for these timely comments. It warms my heart even more to God and to those who allow His love to flow through them to the lost, lonely and often forgotten. Have just returned to London and experiencing what it feels like to be lonely in a city where I once lived... but for the presence of God and His people. Praise God for His deep abiding love that reaches to the lowest valleys of our lives. To Him be Glory forever.
