Consider the Ant
/

Proverbs chapter 6 beginning at verse 6, “Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, which, having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest. How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep?

Though the promptings of God are generally quiet and gentle, there are times in each of our lives when they may become more forceful. In this passage, He provokes the lazy and unconcerned person to consider the ant, who doesn’t have to be pushed to gather what it needs to gather in harvest time.

Looking around at lonely, confused, and hurting people today ask yourself this simple question, “Am I doing what I should be doing in harvesting souls for the kingdom of God, especially now? Is an ant more wise than I am?”

It’s time to pray!
