Jonah chapter 4 and verse 11 God said these words to the prophet, “And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left and much livestock?“
You know, sometimes it can be so hard for even God to deliver his own people from self-focus. God wanted to show mercy to a wicked society and the one that was called to speak on his behalf wanted little or no part of it. The spokesman was focused on his own comfort his own plans, and in his heart he’d already judged those whom God himself wanted to forgive.
So how about you today? If God wants to show mercy to someone’s whose life-style you’ve already judged, are you available to speak for him? Can you be moved from the place of your own comfort and opinion to offer someone else the mercy of God?
It’s time to pray!
