Listen to the words of First Peter, chapter 2 and verse 6, “Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, ‘Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.'”
You know, a person I once met gambles, hoping someday for that big win. There’s another one who has formed from his own imagination ideas about life, God, and eternity. If they both don’t change, they will soon be brought to shame. At the end of the day, the big win can’t buy you redemption; sitting before your own idol can’t save your soul.
Those of you who trusted in Christ can’t be put to shame. You and I must now pray that as the days grow darker, our trust in the finished work of the cross will grow deeper.
My brother, my sister, it’s time to pray.
